Brooklyn is a Shiba Inu mix, at least 8 years old as of fall of 2009. I adopted her from a well-known rescue 5 minutes away from me at that time, whose rescue practice I do not agree with. So when I brought her home and immediately found out that she most definitely was not good with other animals, I couldn’t bring her back to the said rescue. Also, she bit me several times in a few months, all of which as the result of me being in her way to get to another animal. I had to keep her. If I didn’t she might end up biting somebody and face a horrible death at an animal control if she’s lucky. She’s the perfect dog as long as there are no other animals in the world. I can’t even begin to describe how trouble-free Brooklyn is, as long as there are no other animals. So I kept her, the decision I doubted almost everyday for the first year or so because she had to be separated from other animals. But now, thanks to Georgia whose persistence to make friends with Brooklyn whenever she saw her won her over, Brooklyn and Georgia are now the best of friends.
